Why “Rainey Day Art”?

Calling my personal art practice “Rainey Day Art” was something I came up with in college. Putting a name to my identity as an artist felt important, so I landed on a twist on my (then) last name with a general enough title that it could encompass anything I wanted to do creatively in my future.

It has been through many changes since I developed the idea, while I was discovering a lot about what it means to be an artist and an individual creative. At the time, I did primarily traditional artwork with different painting and drawing mediums, but now that has turned into mostly professional graphic design work. Luckily, a paintbrush is a recognizable artist’s tool that communicates the concept regardless of what medium I’m working with.
